We begin with soothing aromatherapy, a thorough cleansing, and gentle exfoliation, followed by a deeply relaxing massage and restorative treatment mask. Hydrosol skin tonic mists, warm herbal compresses, healing balms, and concentrated oil serums are used throughout the facial to deliver nutrition and hydration, leaving the skin feeling rejuvenated and luminous.

I had the most relaxing and nurturing facial from elie. I was in the midst of stressful time and was able to experience deep peace for the first time in a while. I used it for weeks as my “happy place” visualization to relax. I recommend her with all of my heart! I also use the Ula sea buckthorn face balm, jasmine perfume, and imortelle oil daily. The best!!

The room—a warmly bright yet deep cocoon. With a myriad of the highest quality balms, mists, creams, and oils Elie massages the face, neck and upper shoulder area to get the lymph flowing and blood circulating, coaxing stagnant areas to leave you feeling cleansed, refreshed. Through dynamic experimentation, no two facials are exactly alike. You feel you are in the hands of an artist creating during your experience to offer something unique, of the moment. Hours have passed, yet the scent of earthy Nootka rose lingers along my skin. I am taken back to the warm and tranquil cocoon of Elie’s studio, Ula Botanic, in the heart of Eastsound. To receive a treatment from her is far more than a facial; it is a witnessing of a special kind of choreography which incorporates deep relaxation, herbalism, sound and the flora and fauna she knows so well. My body and being completely soften as I sink deeper into the hand dyed linens. The sounds that play take me to a place where my heart feels like it’s home again — and then my facial begins. I am transported. Layers of my old self dissipate with each spritz of hand made hydrosol. Each product used is completely personalized to what I am needing in the moment. This is an art form within itself. Elie’s training combines the best of so many worlds. The warm towels against my décolletage, the Kansa wand across my third eye, lengthy facial massage, acupressure and probiotic cleansing are a few moments that I so vividly remember even as I drifted in and out of time and space. I leave different, in the best of ways, an apple in my hand. My cheeks are rosier than ever before. There is a palpable brightness within me, even as the grey sky of the northwest persists. I, along with many others, are so very grateful for Elie and all that she offers at Ula. Thank you for sharing your gifts with us!
